Privacy policy
Last updated 06/09/2026. Haydi Holidays is operated from Australia and follows the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Your email address, so you can sign in and we can send you your trip.
- The paragraph you write about your trip, the answers you give in the guided questions, and any dates, budget and party details you enter.
- The plan we write for you, the notes and journal entries you add, and the booking lines you track.
- Basic technical information such as your browser type, device and pages visited, used to keep the site working and safe.
We do not collect passport numbers, payment card details or health information. Haydi never takes payment for a holiday, so we never hold travel payment details.
How we use it
- To write, store and update your trip plan.
- To sign you in with a one time code and keep your account secure.
- To send you reminders about booking windows you asked us to track.
- To improve the quality of the plans Haydi writes.
We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers.
What we publish
Every finished trip is published to the Haydi gallery so other travellers can read it and start their own version of it. Published trips are stripped back before anyone else sees them:
- No name, no email, no contact details.
- No real dates. Days show as Day 1 to Day N.
- No paragraph you wrote, no journal entries, no budget tracker, no bookings.
- What does show: the destination, the number of nights, the route, the reasons and the day by day plan.
You can turn publishing off for any trip at any time from that trip's page. Turning it off removes it from the gallery straight away.
Who we use to run Haydi
We use trusted providers to host the site, store data, send email and generate plans. These include cloud hosting and database providers, an email delivery provider, mapping and place data providers, and AI model providers used to write plan text. Providers process information on our instructions only. Some are located overseas, including in the United States and the European Union.
Cookies and similar technology
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember whether you chose planning or travel mode, and remember light or dark reading. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and trips while your account is open. If you delete a trip we remove it, including its published version. If you close your account we delete your personal information within 30 days, apart from records we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or complain about how we have handled it. Write to us through the contact page and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
Haydi is for adults. You can include children in a trip you plan, but accounts are for people aged 18 and over.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you by email.
